Tha Kaloshis are originally Albanian. Their family came to the UK as asylum seekers in 2000. Their family were close friends of the Vucaj family, also Albanian, who were deported in September 2005.

When these photographs were taken in 2005, the Kaloshis were asylum seekers. Since then, they have been granted refugee status, so they now may legally remain in the country that deported their close friends, the Vucajs.
